Educational Initiatives
Navodaya Education Trust ® has established 10 educational institutions in Raichur, Karnataka. The institute was flagged off in 1992, with 50 students and today more than 4000 students pursue their dreams with us in different streams. Today the trust runs Medical, Dental, Engineering, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Central School and Public School with more than 60 courses
In the coming years, the institute will also offer a wide range of training and research programs. A number of new facilities have been created including additional areas for teaching, research laboratories, lecture theaters, a sports complex, a cultural centre and food courts in our campus. Hostel accommodation for students is being created on the campus. Skill Lab and Central Research Lab is also Constructed.
The 1000-bedded state-of-the-art Navodaya Medical College hospital & Research Centre caters to urban and rural population in the Raichur district of Karnataka. It provides for free outpatient and subsidized inpatient treatment for the needy and poor patients as well as for senior citizens. The hospital, the only such comprehensive health care institution in the region, has been in existence for about 10 years and has proved its worth by saving numerous lives of victims. NMCH&RC currently offers tertiary level healthcare facilities including multi-specialties like orthopedics, surgery, pediatrics, nephrology and gastroenterology.
It has on board 300 consultants across various specializations. The total staff strength is about 1,000, including paramedical and other support staff. NMCH&RC also provides free and subsidized outpatient and inpatient treatment for the poor. NMCH&RC is recognized for its post-graduate program, leading to post-graduate degrees & post graduate diplomas in various specialties awarded by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. Since its inception, NMCH&RC has completed more than 100 clinical / scientific research projects, including many multi-disciplinary ones.
Healthcare Initiatives
Our research papers have also been presented at various national and international conferences based on its research projects. These research projects are selected carefully with an aim to undertake community-based studies that are relevant to society.
The trust is involved in a wide variety of social & community development projects and programs, principally in Raichur and adjoining districts of Raichur. The community development endeavours of cover many areas, from health and education to livelihoods, women-children welfare. The panoply of community development endeavours undertaken by Navodaya is exemplary and embracing everything from health and education to art, sport and more has touched, and changed, many lives. The Navodaya Disaster & Natural Calamities Fund Trust for Community Initiatives is the umbrella charity fund of NET that guides and supports with in the community after disaster.
The Trust along with its employees donated Rs.5 Lakhs towards flood relief fund for the torrential floods in 2009. Reinforcing the implicit beliefs the trust brings to its mission of sustainable development with an explicit set of structures, free medical camps after disaster has a charter that embraces social development with employee volunteering after disaster.
